"I was so impressed with your service that I placed an order for a set of fins for my son, who started to dive and I will not think twice about buying any of your products in the future. Thank you." Scott, Ontario
A purge valve is a small round silicone membrane about the size of a nickel that is always located at the lowest point of the snorkel (usually underneath the mouthpiece.) This one-way valve allows water to drain out of the snorkel, but does not allow water back into the snorkel. The benefit of using a purge snorkel vs. a non-purge style is that user does not need to expel nearly as large a volume of water from the snorkel when exhaling undewater. This makes breathing easier, enabling the snorkler to focus more on their aquatic environement.
Yes, a mask and snorkel can be used in any type of aquatic environment. However, in order to prolong the life of your equipment, we strongly suggest that you rinse and sanitize if after each use. This is especially important after use in salt water.
In order to tighten a strap on goggles, you will need to have a little slack in the strap to pull it tight. You may need a thin object, such as a letter opener to loosen the strap. The goggles are designed this way so the straps do not loosen on their own.
Aqua products are designed for backyard and pool use, and are primarily manufactured with PVC frames, durable polycarbonate lenses, and rubber straps. For the more advanced snorkeling enthusiast, Dolfino offers recreational snorkelling and ?dive? equipment made with the highest quality silicone or TPR (thermoplastic rubber), along with tempered glass or polycarbonate lenses.
Your snorkel should have either a removable retainer clip (band), or ?built-in? retainer in the snorkel itself. The mask strap should thread through the retainer so that the mask and snorkel are properly alignmened and securely locked into place.
The silicone used on all Dolfino products is a high grade, hypo-allergenic material which offers an ideal blend of performance, flexibility and comfort to the wearer. Silicone mask skirts can conform to the unique shape of your face, and have a "memory function" that allows them to keep their original form for long life.

If your mustache prevents the mask from sitting flush on your face, the mask will leak. If you have a mustache or a heavy beard, it is a good idea to put Vaseline on your mustache/beard before putting the mask on. In many instances this technique can help to seal the area around your facial hair.
Unless your mask is a special fog-free mask, a very thin layer of silicone residue may be present on the lens from the manufacturing process. If present, this residue can cause the mask to fog easily. To remove any residue prior to use, use this easy technique: coat the entire inside of the mask (including the skirt) with a tsp. of regular toothpaste. Then, using a gentle hand, brush all surfaces with a soft bristled toothbrush. After brushing for a few minutes, rinse with water until the mask is clean. This procedure generally works the very first time, but if fogging reoccurs you may repeat. To make sure your mask does not fog when used - always apply a thin layer of saliva or an anti-fog-liquid before EVERY time you use your mask. Simply rub it on the inside of the lens, rinse with water and put your mask on.
